About the College Board Chinese Language and Culture Initiatives

College Board launched the Chinese Language and Culture Initiatives to help support the growth of Chinese education in U.S. schools and to build a solid foundation for the AP Chinese program. We offer programs to serve schools, administrators, and teachers.

Chinese Language Assessment Institute New! – Program delayed until 2021

Join K–12 Chinese language teachers to participate in a 10-day intensive program in China. Teachers will learn about AP Chinese, HSK exam, use of authentic and contemporary materials, and more. Space is limited for this unique learning opportunity.

Professional Learning Webinar Series

Register for a professional development webinar to enhance your teaching skills or strengthen your Chinese program. A variety of topics are offered through three strands of focused webinars to new and veteran Chinese language teachers and school administrators. Webinars are offered to participants at no cost.

Chinese Guest Teacher Program

Bring native speakers and authentic cultural resources to your school and community. Through this program, you can host an experienced language teacher from China for one to three years. The Chinese Guest Teacher Program allows U.S. accredited K–12 schools and districts to start or expand Chinese programs efficiently and affordably.

2020 National Chinese Language Conference

Due to the spread of the coronavirus (covid-19), the onsite National Chinese Language Conference has been canceled. College Board and Asia Society are thrilled to announce a new online event to bring together educators during this unprecedented time. Co-organized by College Board and Asia Society, the National Chinese Language Conference is a must-attend event if you aim to build a high-quality Chinese program, seek ways to integrate Chinese language and culture across the curriculum, and want to foster students' global competence.

Chinese Bridge Delegation to China

Join K–12 leaders from across the U.S. on a delegation visit to China. During this program, you will visit schools, meet Chinese educators and students, and participate in partnership-building activities. Learn about best practices, gather resources, experience Chinese culture, and more.
